Similar to the previous lot, this is a collection of gleaming Odessa fragments, most likely the result of a large “parent” mass rapidly spinning at the moment of atmospheric impact. Meteorites typically travel at a cosmic velocity of at least 7 miles/second just before impact, and a rapidly spinning mass at the time of impact would account for the spalling of the small specimens now offered. An enchanting group of mini-meteorites. Average size of each specimen 4 x 3 x 2mm; total weight 163 grams.
