LOT 38248

IMILAC METEORITE — PARTIAL SLICE OF A METEORITE WITH SPACE GEMS
PAL – Pallasite
Atacama Desert, Chile

Similar to the previous lot, this specimen possesses a prominent earthly provenance in addition to its compelling extraterrestrial origins: this partial slice was cut from the largest Imilac meteorite ever found, which became the centerpiece of the Meteorite Hall at the British Museum of Natural History. Olivine crystals pepper the nickel-iron matrix of this fine representation of one of the world’s most sought-after meteorites. 60 x 78 x 3mm (2.25 x 3.0 x 0.1 inches) and 34.9 grams.

Estimate: $800 -1,000
