Of the tens of thousands of chondritic meteorites known to exist, there are just 14 which are ungrouped (CH-UNGR). While hundreds of meteorites have been classified "Anomalous," only a handful are so completely exotic there is nothing they are anomalous to. Within this select group, NWA 5717 is the only meteorite with a 3.05 subtype, making it among the most primitive planetary matter known to exist. Unlike 99.99% of all other meteorites, NWA 5717 is unchanged since its origins in the early solar nebula. Moreover, it contains two distinct 3.05 lithologies, neither of which has ever before been seen. NWA 5717 is unique and it originates from a previously unknown parent body....
